Bored? Build a Mini

My miniramp experience started like this. I was looking for something fun to do every day that would keep my balance focused for surfing and all of the other board sports that I am involved with. I did little to no research into how to build a miniramp and finally stumbled upon some really simple plans.
I used these plans to make my ramp. With a couple of extra sheets of plywood and 2x4s I adjusted the plans to make my ramp 10' instead of the 8' called for in the plans. The cost to me was around $500 on supplies (but I did have some extra wood left over from my fence). This project took about 2 days to complete with myself doing the lionshare of the work with friends helping on during much of the process.
The ramp has been up for a number of weeks and I feel that it has made the week that much better when I am away from the beach. I am sure that there are any number of tricks that help my surfing style and increase my reaction time and balance. Plus it is great for BBQs.
So the next time you are bummed out because there are no waves this week or weekend, stop complaining and start making stuff happen. Besides how hurt can you get on a 2' ramp.
